Our Comment on the June 2026 Draft County Zoning Amendments

Sacramento County has invited Strong SacTown (among other groups) to give feedback for proposed zoning amendments which would open up single-family zones to duplex development, among other things. These are important steps towards a stronger, more fiscally solvent county, but one glaring issue remains unresolved: the proposed amendments don’t eliminate vehicle parking minimums.

The Strong SacTown board has drafted and published the following letter:

Take Action

Join one of the July Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC) meetings in your neighborhood to hear about these zoning amendments and share your input on how to enable infill development.

Besides the in-neighborhood CPAC meetings, there will be three more opportunities to give feedback later this year at 700 H Street:

  1. August 10, 2026 – Planning Commission Workshop
  2. September 28, 2026 – Planning Commission Hearing.
  3. November 3, 2026 – The final Board of Supervisors Hearing to adopt the amendments.
